Migration to Hugo

The first post in this blog was introduced in 2013 (nearly 10 years ago). I used octopress as static website generator. This was a very good decision because it worked very well for a long time.

The best decision was to choose a static website generator and no dynamic website. This saved me much time because security updates are no issue here.

Octopress is now not developed anymore therefore a new static website generator has to be used. Hugo is used by many other people in these days. There are also migration scripts for this specific migration, e.g. octohug.

As hugo theme I use https://github.com/thegeeklab/hugo-geekblog. This is simple and clean and a little bit hacky.

I am already very excited to see what static website generator will be there in 10 years. Or is the web even more changing and static websites are not used anymore? Let’s wait and see.
